The downtown Brampton shopping district centred at the intersection of Queen and Main Streets, has a pedestrian friendly streetscape dressed up with old fashioned street lamps, and heritage street signs. There are over 320 businesses in the downtown core, as well as professional and medical offices. In particular, downtown Brampton is known for its restaurant and theatre district which revolves around the elegant Heritage Theatre, located at 86 Main Street North.
Downtown Brampton is also home to the very popular Brampton Farmers Market, where locally grown produce is sold every Saturday morning from mid-June until the middle of October. Bramalea City Centre, is a large regional shopping centre conveniently located at 25 Peel Centre Drive, south of Queen Street, and 1 kilometre east, of Highway 10. This shopping centre features over 250 shops and services and is anchored by: Sears, The Bay, and Zellers.
Queen Street, west of Highway 10, is lined with fast food restaurants, electronics stores, sports stores, furniture shops, car dealerships, and small strip plazas. The newly renovated and expanded Shoppers World Brampton, located at the corner of Steeles Avenue and Highway 10, is anchored by: The Bay, Canadian Tire, Staples Business Depot, Zellers, and Winners; and features over 170 shops and services.
