The Second City's Improv Showdown at Hotel X Toronto's Cinema

This holiday season, Hotel X Toronto (111 Princes’ Blvd.) is joining forces with the comedic talents from The Second City Toronto to host a holiday-themed Improv Showdown from December 13, 2019 to January 5, 2020 that the whole family can enjoy! In this type of show that’s 50% improvised and 50% scripted, anything can happen! Two teams of top-notch improvisers and high-energy characters will compete in a winner-takes-all comedy face-off in the hotel’s 250-seat cinema. Audience volunteers will help choose the winning team by shouting out a few fun and zany performance suggestions as the two teams vie it out to become the comedy champions! Tickets are $35 and can be purchased via Eventbrite. This event is all ages.

Providing a dynamic setting for collaboration and educational experience in the craft of composing for solo piano, TPL welcomes you to our inaugural Composers' Symposium as we jump into 2020! Each composer has creating a new work for solo piano, in mentorship with Christopher Mayo. This weekend centres around two performances, a lecture and workshop for emerging composers runs the weekend of January 17th through 19th. Locations are either Bunker Lane Press or the Canadian Music Centre.
