The City owned Uplands Golf and Ski Centre is located at 46 Uplands Avenue off Yonge Street, just north of Centre Street. This nine hole golf course was designed in 1922, by Stanley Thompson. Situated in a lush valley setting, this course features some of the best par 3 holes in Southern Ontario.
The Uplands Ski Centre offers downhill skiing and snowboarding with four slopes, night skiing, rentals, ski school, and a licensed lounge.
The Kortright Conservation Area, located at 9550 Pine Valley Drive spans 800 acres of wilderness, making it Canada’s largest environment education centre. Back to nature programs and hiking trails are offered here. The Boyd Conservation Area located off Islington Avenue, north of Highway 7, encompasses 237 acres of hiking and walking trails. This centre also operates outdoor and conservation programs for Schools*and community groups.
The annual Binder Twine Festival held in the Village of Kleinburg, is the oldest festival in Vaughan. This festival is held on the first Saturday after Labour Day. Kleinburg’s main street Shopping district is closed off for the festivities which include: a parade, cow milking, hog calling, crafts, and games.
