Shopping in Newmarket

Newmarket’s historic downtown Main Street shopping district is lined with locally owned shops and restaurants. Many annual events take place here including: July 1st Canada Day celebrations, the Downtown Fall Festival (held the second Saturday after Labour Day), and a Christmas Open House Weekend which takes place on the third weekend in November.

Upper Canada Mall located on Davis Drive, east of Yonge Street is Newmarket’s largest shopping mall. This shopping centre features 225 stores and services and is anchored by: The Bay, Sears, Toys ‘R’ Us and Zellers. A plethora of smaller shopping plazas are also located along Davis Drive. Further north on Yonge Street is the Woodland Hills mall which features a multitude of Big Box stores such as Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
