Georgina is home to the Red Barn Theatre, Canada’s oldest live summer theatre. This theatre is situated on scenic Hedge Road, next door to The Briars resort. Live theatre is also available at the popular Stephen Leacock Theatre located at 130 Gwendolyn Boulevard in Keswick. The Gem Theatre, located at 11 Church Street in Keswick, has four cinemas.
A very popular event on the Georgina social calendar is the Sutton Fair and Horse Show, which has been held annually since 1855! The Sutton Fair Grounds also host the annual Georgina Winter Carnival which takes place on the second weekend in February.
The Georgina Village Museum situated on Civic Centre Road, adjacent to the Georgina Civic Centre, provides visitors with insights on what pioneer life was like for Georgina’s first residents. The Town of Georgina operates public libraries in: Keswick, Sutton, and Pefferlaw.
Sadly the Red Barn theatre was destroyed by fire in Spring 2009.
