Homes in Mississauga
Mississauga has many different neighbourhoods that offer homebuyers a myriad of options and lifestyles. Port Credit Village is currently undergoing a major revitalization, with many new townhouse and luxury condominium buildings being built along its waterfront.
To the west, and the north of Port Credit, are the highly desirable: Lorne Park, Clarkson, and Cooksville neighbourhoods. These established neighbourhoods offer spacious lots, and mature tree-lined streets. A growing number of custom-built new homes are now being built in these upscale neighbourhoods. Erin Mills, just north of thedowntown, was created in 1969. It holds the distinction of being the largest master-planned community ever built in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Erin Mills community is bordered by Dundas Street to the south, Britannia Road to the north, Erin Mills Parkway to the east and Winston Churchill Blvd., to the west. Mississauga’s highest density, can be found in the downtown core near the Square One Shopping Centre. This area features a large number of new high-rise condominium apartment buildings. The Churchill neighbourhood, located west of Erin Mills, north of Highway 403, up to Britannia Road, is Mississauga’s most active building site. Townhomes, as well as semi-detached and detached houses are being built here.
At the north-end of Mississauga you will come upon the historic communities of Streetsville and Meadowvale Village. Old Meadowvale Village was honoured in 1980, as Ontario’s first heritage conservation district. The new home subdivisions in these historic communities have incorporated a heritage theme into their architecture.
