Caledon’s wonderful topography of hills and dales, woodlots and rivers, can be explored through a network of multi-purpose trails that criss-cross through this town. The Caledon Trailway (which is part of the Trans Canada Trail), is a 36 kilometre trail that winds its way from Palgrave in the northeast part of Caledon, southwest through the picturesque Village of Terra Cotta. Hiking, cycling, crosscountry skiing and horseback riding are popular pursuits along this trail.
Caledon has six community centres, three ice arenas, and over a dozen sports parks. The Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness located off Highway 50, just north of King Street in Bolton, is a new state-of-the-art facility featuring an aquatic centre, a fitness centre, and a youth centre. The Caledon Ski Club located at 17431 Mississauga Road in Belfountain, is one of the oldest private ski resorts in Ontario. This ski club has 23 ski runs, eight lifts, and two lodges.
