Recreation in Clarington
The Waterfront Trail in the Municipality of Clarington begins near McLaughlin Bay in Darlington Provincial Park. This trail is suitable for walking and cycling.
In addition Clarington has numerous conservation areas that have trails suitable for hiking, and cross-country skiing. The Ganaraska Forest Centre is a popular spot for mountain biking, motorcycling, snowmobiling and horseback riding.
Clarington is for golfers, with five golf clubs and two driving ranges. The Bowmanville Harbour and the Port of Newcastle Marina both have boat launches. The Municipality of Clarington also operates numerous community centres and swimming pools.
