Willowdale's original housing stock was built from the 1920's through to the 1950's. In this neighbourhood you will find charming Edwardian and Tudor style houses generally located near Yonge Street, rows of cosy brick and frame bungalows, and a fair number of split-level houses situated in the western section of Willowdale.
Willowdale has recently become a hot spot for new custom built homes. These new homes on average provide three to four thousand square feet of living space. The exterior of these homes typically includes double or triple garages, interlock driveways, wrought iron railings and balconies and professionally landscaped gardens. The lavish interior finishes range from marble and slate tiles, ceramic backsplash, rich hardwood floors, cornice mouldings, skylights, potlights, alarm and intercom systems, central air and central vacuum, and nine foot ceilings.
Willowdale also includes a large number of newer luxury condominium apartment buildings and townhouses. These homes are located mainly on or near Yonge Street and feature convenient access to the subway station.

Ranch style bungalows on large lots are part of the Willowdale housing mix.
