Homes in West Rouge
West Rouge contains many former stone and frame summer cottages, built in the 1920's. These houses, now winterized, are situated mostly along Rouge Hills Drive. West Rouge also features many ranch-style bungalows, split-level homes and Tudor style, two-storey homes from the 1950's, 60's and 70's, as well as pockets of new home subdivisions built in the 1980's and 90's.
The West Rouge area around Lawrence Avenue has recently been converted into a "waterfront village" community that includes semi-detached houses as well as townhomes. The garages for these homes have been positioned off rear laneways, which makes for a more pleasing streetscape and enhances the architectural detail of these homes.
