McMICHAEL FAMILY DAY FESTIVAL - Kleinburg in City of Vaughan

Date: Feb 19, 2012 – Feb 19, 2012

Details

Sunday and Monday, February 19 and 20
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

What nicer way to celebrate Family Day than by celebrating those who live close to you? This weekend, McMichael’s Art Connects program presents Kleinburg-based folk artist Mary Scattergood. A daughter of a skilled cabinet maker, Mary has a special affinity with wood and often chooses wooden panels as a painting support for delightfully whimsical village scenes. Come observe the artist in action and engage in a discussion around her choice of technique, style, and themes.

Don’t miss our other programs, such as the hands-on
Folk Art family workshop, the Sunday Concert with Beatriz Boizan, and on Monday, for the first time at the gallery, Jim Dalling’s theatrical performance, Loki’s Big Dream—a magical tale inspired by a young boy’s relationship with his beloved grandpa.
