Have you ever thought about art and technology as a match made in heaven? Surprisingly, it can happen when the right people get together to address a just cause that concerns all of us. Come listen to Toronto-based artist Napoleon Brousseau and technologist Gabe Sawhney describe their collaboration to raise funds through a virtual tree-planting initiative.
They’ve devised the SEED Collective, the “first cell phone-driven interactive installation with the purpose to affect environmental change in the real world”, through which users create and populate a forest together. The interactive SEED Collective project is on view at the gallery. Following the program will be a guided tour of The McMichael Tree Project.
Cost:
general public: $10
McMichael members: Free for McMichael and YRAC members
