GTA Places Six Schools In Top 10 of Ontario Secondary School Rankings:

In the most recent Fraser Institute school rankings for the 2016-17 school year the Greater Toronto Area placed six schools in the top ten among high schools. These schools included number 1. St. Michael's Choir of downtown Toronto, 2. Abbey Park of Oakville, 3. St. Robert of Thornhill, 5. St. Therese Lisieux of Richmond Hill, 6. Ursula Franklin of midtown Toronto, and 9. Bayview of Richmond Hill. The GTA had a total of thirty-three high schools ranked in the top fifty with the City of Toronto leading the way with eleven top fifty placements followed by the City of Markham and the City of Mississauga with five placements each in the top fifty. A total of 747 secondary schools participated in the Fraser Institute's standardized province wide testing.
The Fraser Instiitute Elementary school rankings were even more competitive than the secondary schools with twenty schools tying for first place in the rankings. The first place finishers all had a remarkable 10.0 perfect score. The top twenty elementary schools consisted of fifteen schools from the GTA, led by the City of Toronto with eight schools. There were a total of 3,064 elementary schools in Ontario that participated in this standardized testing.
